To celebrate Burns Nightđ´ó §ó ˘ó łó Łó ´ó ż we spent our afternoon listening to a Scottish themed animated book called 'Hazel the Highland Hedgehog'đŚ
The children sat for the storytelling session and really engaged with the story as when I asked questions relating to what was just read she was able to recall names of characters and pick out visual information through the pictures.
We looked at tartan picture and patterns today for Robert burns day, we began trying to create tartan through weaving into the paper however we were all finding this a bit tricky so we used glue to stick our tartan pattern together instead which we all did well.
We practiced our art skills through cutting and gluing different coloured strips of paper to make our very own unique tartan print. I highlighted how important it is for us to hold scissors properly in regards to everyone's safety and to never run with scissors.
