Exploring Sewing with the Children

Today, one of the children noticed there were holes and rips in the bottom of one of our dress-up dresses, and thought it would be a good idea to mend it using what they had learned in our sewing practice. Many friends joined in, and they took turns sewing up different parts of the dress. We turned the dress inside out, and after a lot of debating they decided on green and black thread to match the dress. The children were all very pleased with their results, and now the dress has rouging in the front - a happy accident - which one of our friends said made it “much better!
